For the first time in as long as I can remember, Xbox have changed the date of their live media briefing for E3 in June. Usually their first up on stage on Monday morning US time, but last night the company announced that for this year’s event, there will be a bit of a change.
Instead of its traditional Monday morning showcase, Xbox fans and gamers all round can pencil in a reminder to watch the show on Sunday, June 11th at 2pm PDT instead. This is said to be at 10pm BST for European folk. So much for an early night that Sunday then, eh?
So what can we look forward to seeing or learning more about at the Xbox show this year? Well, no doubt we’ll be seeing Project Scorpio and its official title, if any. That will certainly be the highlight of the briefing. But what of the games?
We know that Sea of Thieves is still on the way, as is the ever illusive Crackdown 3. We’ll likely see another Forza Motorsport title, but let’s hope Turn 10 shake things up a bit this time around. Forza Motorsport 6 is fantastic, but it needs more tracks and more focus on clean track racing as well as a penalty system for those who breach the rules of fair play.
Something Killer Instinct related is bound to make an appearance, and maybe the next Tomb Raider title that was leaked last year? With Halo Wars 2 releasing very soon, it’s unlikely we’ll see another Halo title listed, but maybe some additional content for it and Halo 5 will be shown off? Gears 5 is way off, and some new IPs are definitely needed in order to contend with the PlayStation 4’s line up. Hopefully it will be a briefing worth talking about for positive reasons.
