Winter Sale arrives on PC stores

Christmas SaleHo Ho Hoooo Merry Christmas PC gamers. Santa has delivered savings galore to many PC store such as Steam, Uplay, Origin and if you are tanked up on the Christmas hooch and feeling particularly bold, the Windows store. Read on to see if there is anything on sale that can tempt you.

Christmas is but a few days away and many of us will be running low on in life credits but fear not because stores across the PC platform have some ridiculously great games on sale for you to take advantage of. So where shall we start? Well whilst it’s impossible to list everything that’s available as there’s a ridiculous amount to get through I thought I’d give some of the highlights from some of the most popular platforms starting with everybody’s favourite, the Windows store sale.

Windows Store Highlights

  • Call of Duty Infinite Warfare is currently going from £39.99 £25.99. If your kids have been particularly naughty this year this could be the lump of coal to get them
  • Forza Horizon 3 is going for £79.99 £63.99. A beautifully smooth and aesthetically gorgeous game to play and one of the finest racers on PC.
  • Gears of War 4: Ultimate Edition is going for £79.99 £59.99 which is a very good price for one of the best and prettiest games of the year. The campaign is particularly good to play through and there is also the legendary multiplayer for you to enjoy over a glass of mulled wine.
  • Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition is half price at £14.99 £7.49

Gears of War 4

There are actually a few good deals to be found in amongst all the crap apps that you find on sale so it may well be worth your while to have a look by clicking here. *WARNING clicking that link will take you into the Windows store!!

Ubisoft Store

There’s some great games on sale in the Ubisoft store.

  • Watchdogs 2 is 33% off being priced at £39.99 £26.79. If the first game wasn’t for you I’d still advise you give the second instalment some consideration because it’s a fantastic game and a brilliant PC port.
  • Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is half price at £29.99 £14.99. My most played game of 2016 that is great fun to play with friends. One of the finest first person shooters in years despite its issues.
  • Tom Clancy’s The Division is also half price and going for £39.99 £19.99 for the base game. It had it’s issues but fair play to the developers they have done a brilliant job turning it around. if you have a spare £20 laying around I’d definitely recommend this.

Steep and a host of other Ubisoft games are also on sale but unfortunately in true Ubisoft style their store site went down as I was writing so to see what other goodies they have head on over too their Store by clicking here.


There are some crazy deals to be had here in the Origin sale.

  • Battlefield 1 Deluxe Edition and Titanfall 2 Deluxe Edition are being bundled together and going for half price which is a stupendous £119.99 £59.99. this is a crazy good deal for this year’s finest first person shooters. You can also buy the Deluxe editions separately for £32.49 which is also 50% off. Titanfall 2 was Shane’s GOTY.
  • The Sims 4 is 67% off which is a reasonable £16.66
  • Star Wars Battlefront is going for just £8.33
  • Mirrors Edge Catalyst is a cool £24.99 £12.49 which is a rather nice deal.

Where to start here? If you’ve been playing the Gwent beta then I suspect you’ve already stumbled across these crazy offerings but for those that haven’t we’ll take a looksee.

  • The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt GOTY Edition is going for just £20.99 or you can get it bundled with all the DLC and the first two games for £52.73 which is a saving of 50% at £52.73. I really can’t overstate how fantastic this series is and on PC it just looks and plays stunningly well.
  • Inside, which was Jorn’s GOTY, is going for just £11.19 and why not add Limbo to your basket for an extra £1.59. Two brilliant games that you won’t regret buying.
  • Divinity Original Sin: Enhanced edition is half price and going for £14.99

Steam are famous for their sales and this years winter sale won’t disappoint. There’s many games on offer including some that have been mentioned above so if this is your platform of choice it’s worth seeing if anything above is in the Steam sale.

  • Farming Simulator 17 is currently £25.49 which is a tempting deal I must say *cough cough hint hint.
  • Doom is going for a ridiculous 67% off taking it’s price to a very low £13.19. There’s also big savings to be had on some of the older Doom games too.
  • Sid Meier’s Civilisation VI may only have a 10% discount dropping it to £44.99 but Sid Meier’s Civilisation V is going for just £4.99 which is a whopping 75% off.
  • Assetto Corsa is 40% off going for just £14.99
  • Train simulator 2017 is arriving at platform 1 for just £9.99 which is 60% off.
  • Space Engineers is in Beta but also has a hefty 50% discount dropping the price down to £9.49
  • Kerbal Space program is a brilliant game best enjoyed on PC and is going for a crazy £10.19
  • Dark Souls III is half price and going for £19.99
  • Fallout 4 is 67% off going for just £13.19
  • Grand Theft Auto V is currently going for just £19.99
