Spanish matador Vega, introduced to the Street Fighter series as a boss character in Street Fighter 2, has been revealed as the latest addition to the roster in Street Fighter V. Vega is known for his athletic movements and viscous claw attacks, and seeing him return to the latest game is great news.
Vega returns to Street Fighter V with a brand new look and new tricks up his frilly sleeves. Possessing his trademark speed and quickness, Vega now has access to two distinct fighting modes: with claw and without claw. Vega now has the ability to sheathe his claw during battle in exchange for new moves, such as a command grab, as well as new attack properties, greatly changing the way he approaches each fight. Knowing when to toggle between the two styles will be the key to success, and it also allows for new combo possibilities. The downfall of this is that when Vega loses his claw from opposing attacks, he can no longer pick it up again. Learning to fight with claw and no claw will be key to your success with Vega.
Vega’s V-Trigger move, the Street Fighter V variant of the Ultra attack, sees him throwing a rose at high velocity towards the opponent. If it hits, he charges behind it and delivers a series of brutal slashes that devastate the enemy. Fans attending Gamescom this week will be able to check Vega out at the Sony booth, and can get some hands on action with him.
