Fans are of course eager to get their hands on Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End in order to continue on with Nathan Drake’s story, but there is still the other side of Uncharted to be excited about, and that’s the multiplayer mode. Straight off the presses at PAX today, a returning game mode was revealed in a trailer.
Fans of Uncharted 2 and 3 will be familiar with Plunder, which is a variation of the Capture Flag mode found in many titles. In Plunder however, you can throw the ‘flag’ which is represented by a piece of treasure.
Naughty Dog said “For those familiar with the classic Plunder game type, we’ve made a few updates. In previous Uncharted games, people carrying the idol could not traverse with it; we removed this constraint. Also, Plunder has been a five-on-five experience in the past; we changed that to four vs. four. No doubt this may cause shortness of breath for fans of the mode, but worry not! Given the number of mechanics that have been introduced into our multiplayer’s moment-to-moment gameplay, Plunder at four vs. four is perfect and we hope fans that experience this mode at PAX East feel the same.”
“We still have so much to share with our fans that have been waiting a long time to hear more about multiplayer,” Lead Game Designer Robert Cogburn said. “The reveal of Plunder is just another piece. Let me assure you, what we will be revealing soon after PAX East will please a lot of people.”
Uncharted 4 will be scavenging onto PlayStation 4 on May 10th. Book a day or two off work, folks!
