Last Week saw the release of Gears of War 4, WWE 2k15 and a host of VR titles for PlayStation VR but could any of the unseat FIFA 17 from the top seat of the chart that it seems to occupy each year? There’s been a lot of new entries and this time of year the charts become especially interesting.
FIFA 17 retains the top spot in the chart, being available on multiple platforms gives it an edge over platform exclusives, and for many, it’s a game that gets picked up each and every year. This year it’s selling even better and has sold 18% more this year at launch than last year probably due to more people upgrading to the latest consoles as well as the addition of “The journey”.
The extremely impressive Gears of War 4 takes 2nd spot in the chart. Releasing on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC’s the latest addition to the Gears of War franchise has impressed many with its epic story, beautiful visuals and its fast paced, fun as hell multiplayer.
Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 year addition debuts in at 5 in the chart which is impressive and deserved as it truly is a fantastic game. Minecraft continues to occupy the top 20 which really is achievement. It leaves me wondering if any game has featured in the top of the charts for so long?
