As the month of September begins, we look at the last week of August’s game sales at retail. With a few new releases, none of them topped the chart, but instead a returning champion takes up the mantle for another week.
Overwatch, Blizzard’s stunning multiplayer, team based shooter leaps from 4th place in the chart into 1st for another spell, showing that players are still eager to check out this colourful, competitive shooter. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided debuted at the top, but slips down into second place.
New release World of Warcraft: Legion debuts in third place which is a fine achievement, considering this is the retail charts. It probably did very well digitally too. F1 2016 from Codemasters pits in and loses two places, dropping down to 4th place from 2nd. Still, not bad for a niche racer.
Last week also saw the release of The Witcher 3: Game of the Year Edition, and surprisingly, that didn’t get off to a great start, debuting in 17th place. Maybe everyone already owns it? Still, a great bundle for a good price, and a superb game to have in your collection!
