For the first time in what feels like 7 or 8 weeks, Call of Duty Black Ops 3 has finally been shifted from the top spot of the UK game sales chart, and sees itself replaced by a new release. Say what you want about that or LEGO games, but they do sell. Why doesn’t someone make a LEGO Call of Duty?!!!
Yes, LEGO Marvel Avengers debuted last week, topping the chart upon its release, pushing the juggernaut of CoD down into second. I expect it to come right back next week however. We shall see. FIFA 16 got shoved down into 3rd place, while Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege holds strong in 4th. What a fun, addictive title, this one. Star Wars Battlefront remains in 5th, with its wealth of new content and updates last week keeping it fresh.
Grand Theft Auto V slipped from 3rd into 5th place, and Just Cause 3 climbed from 8th into 7th place on the chart, with the help of a grappling hook. A massive jump for Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain, from 24th into 8th, and Fallout 4 holding onto 9th for its second week running.
The other new releases last week was Final Fantasy Explorers, debuting in 11th place. I would also like to draw attention to both versions of Minecraft, not the Story Mode but the PlayStation and Xbox versions. Both still in the top 20!
