Batman has unsurprisingly taken the top spot in the UK Retail department for last week, debuting successfully on consoles, but not on PC. As you can imagine, with Arkham Knight being penned as a potential Game of the Year candidate before its launch, that it was bound to sell well.
Last week, LEGO Jurassic World took the top of the chart spot from The Witcher 3, and after a week, it has dropped into second place. The Elder Scrolls Online continues to perform well, shifting down into third, but still attracting more and more fans to console MMOs. Yoshi’s Wooly World debuts on the Wii U in fourth place, which is great for the little fella, and Geralt drops further down the chart, from third to fifth this week.
Other new entry, Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward debuts in 10th, the expansion pack for the PlayStation MMO which is seen as a fantastic title, worth the monthly subscription, if you have the time! MotoGP 15 races into 13th place on its first lap, keeping motorcycle fans happy on their wheels.
Splatoon falls miserably from 8th to 19th, and Project CARS falls from 11th to 20th this week, while Payday 2: Crimewave Edition falls eight places from 6th to 14th. Will it steal another place next week? We shall see. Batman to remain at the top of the chart for another week, or will the social media negativity regarding the PC version affect its sales?
