UK game sales chart, April 16th

dark souls 3 chartLast week saw the release of Dark Souls 3 into the world, and boy did it make an early impression. Previously, Quantum Break dethroned The Division for the first time since its launch, and now Dark Souls has clambered to the top of this week’s UK game sales chart in retail.

Dark Souls 3 saw a massive rise in sales over Dark Souls 2 when it launched in 2014. So much in fact, that it sold 61% better. Go team! The Division manages to climb from 3rd place up to 2nd again, and with the release of the Incursions DLC to all players, it might spur on further growth. EA’s UFC 2 did rather well last week, starting off in 8th the previous week and ending up in 3rd after a few new players joined the Octagon.

Quantum Break for Xbox One and Windows 10 traveled back in time, but didn’t end up where it started, falling into 4th place on the chart. Dirt Rally debuted last week in 2nd and found itself in the ditch of 5th place on its second week. FIFA 16 took a bit of a relegation hit too, dropping points and ending up in 7th from 4th on the league table. The Minecraft titles are all still clinging on in the top 20 as well, which is great. After reports that 10,000 copies are sold daily, that’s just insane!
