U2, one of the few bands around the world to oppose having their music used in video games has given in, and will feature on Rock Band 4. This news comes straight from Harmonix, the game’s developer, who have announced two songs, with more to come in the future.
“U2 tracks “Cedarwood Road” from the band’s current album Songs of Innocence and “I Will Follow” from their classic debut Boywill be featured in Rock Band 4. This is the first time music from the 22-time GRAMMY award-winning band will be featured in a rhythm action music game.”
The press release continues, adding “Cedarwood Road” and “I Will Follow” are only the beginning for U2 and Rock Band; fans can expect additional U2 tracks to be added to the in-game Music Store for download after launch. You can see the two songs in action in the video below.
The question is, what will they be, and what would fans want to see and play in Rock Band 4? Great news for fans of the series, and fans of the band. Rock Band 4 will be available on October 6th for Xbox One and the PlayStation 4. You can pre-order now on both platforms to receive almost a dozen free songs ready for day one.
