If you’re on the fence about upgrading your Destiny game to ‘Destiny 2.0’, or in real terms, The Taken King, why not try out the new multiplayer features next week for free, to see how they appeal to you?
From September 8th until the 14th, play all of The Taken King’s new maps and two new game modes for free. That’s what Bungie are offering you. The only catch is that you can’t make use of the new Guardian abilities, unless you upgrade. There are 8 new maps to play on (7 for Xbox) and the two new game modes being added are Rift and Mayhem.
This free week of multiplayer leads us into the release of The Taken King on September 15th, so if you want to continue playing, you will have to upgrade for £40 or its equivalent in your region. On the 8th of September, the base game will require update 2.0, which weighs in at roughly 18GB on Xbox One and PS4, 20GB on PS3 and 10GB on Xbox 360. This update will make a tonne of changes, essentially ending year one of Destiny, and beginning year two. Many fans are excited, of course!
