Cult classic 16bit era duo Toejam & Earl are making a comeback next year, after the Kickstarter for the game raised $400,000 earlier this year. A new trailer has been revealed, and those who enjoyed it way back in 1991, should definitely feel familiar with it.
“Toejam & Earl: Back in the Groove is a mash-up of the very best features from the classic console games (that’s one and two, y’all), with a pile of new features thrown in. The goal is to give old skool TJ & E fans a pure blast of funky nostalgia, and give new players a taste of the light-hearted, co-op play that is TJ & E.”
Toejam & Earl boasts co-op splitscreen action, loads of secret areas to discover, and some funky beats, as you can hear from the trailer. While not the most exciting game to look at, this is pure nostalgia for anyone who enjoyed the original titles, and I may well pick this up myself!
Toejam & Earl: Back in the Groove will be available on PC and consoles sometime in 2017.
