Respawn Entertainment want to win over gamers by using cheap tactics such as taking digs at their former studio and publisher, Infinity Ward and Activision. This week, a lot of Titanfall 2 single player content has been revealed, but a tweet from the official Twitter account still insists on flogging a dead horse.
“Respawn has innovated the stale FPS genre once again. RT to Pay Respects,” says their tweet, along with a link to some single player gameplay. Referencing a scene in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare which asked players to ‘Press X to pay respects’ during a funeral. Sure, it was cringe-worthy, but that was 2 years ago. I think we’re all well past that joke.

While Titanfall 2 does look very good so far, with its addition of single player on top of the already frantic multiplayer combat with humans and mechs bouncing and trudging across the battlefields, it won’t have an easy release this October, falling between both Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Sure a lot of fans will be dying to hop onto Modern Warfare Remastered, and then there’s Gears of War 4 and Final Fantasy to be excited about. Loads of games.
Is this dig uncalled for, or do you enjoy when developers flaunt their stuff to cause controversy? Do you think Titanfall 2 will be a better game than Infinite Warfare?
