Point and Click adventures are a genre from the 90s that saw some great, memorable hits like Discworld and The Secrets of Monkey Island become engrained in our minds. In modern gaming, the closest we get to these types of games are the Telltale games like The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us and Telltale’s Batman. From Irish indie developer Pewter Games comes The Little Acre is a streamlined Point and Click adventure that tells a lovely story.
“While searching for his father, Aidan travels to a strange new world. Lily – his heroic daughter – sets off after him.” The Little Acre is fully voiced, with hand-drawn animations. The settings vary between rural Ireland and other worlds, and while the story is rather short; meaning it’s ideal for young ones to find themselves engrossed in, the characters and dialogue are well produced.
The Little Acre has fairly positive reviews so far on Steam, with many enjoying the game. For those yearning for a throwback to the old LucasFilm games, this might be right up your alley. Treat yourself this holiday to a short, but sweet adventure.
The Little Acre is available on Steam, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 now.
