After an agonisingly long wait The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild finally releases on Nintendo WiiU and Nintendo’s latest console/handheld hybrid, the Nintendo Switch. First revealed way back in 2014 the game has evolved from the early days of 8bit up,down, left and right to a lush and frankly beautiful art style and what could well be one of the best open world’s ever created.
Releasing just a few days after Sonys impressive looking Horizon: Zero Dawn may just make this one of the best weeks for games releases in a long time. After being delayed on the WiiU to accommodate the Nintendo Switch launch, excitement levels have shot through the roof and for good reason. The more we’ve seen of this game the more it impresses and tomorrow can’t come quick enough.
Many reviewers have been fortunate enough to have had their hands on review copies for a while now and the scores have started to pour in. On Meta critic at the time of writing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has a Metacritic score of 98. That score has me totally gobsmacked and just leaves me totally and utterly functionless as I await my delivery of the game and the Switch.
Take a look below at a selection of the scores submitted so far or you can visit Metacritic to check out the full list.
