The year may be coming to a close, but there’s still one high profile game release still to come, and that is the long awaited release of The Last Guardian for PlayStation 4. Coming from the studio responsible for Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, will a game in development since 2007 pack enough punch to win over holiday shoppers and gamers?
A new trailer was released this week showing off a few more brief instances of gameplay, but it’s a really short trailer. It continues to give me the impression that it’s not a very big game, and its setting doesn’t look very vast or varied either. Hopefully I’m proven wrong, but all of the footage I have seen so far seems to indicate it’s set in a small world. It could still tell a nice little story between a young boy and this cat-dog-bird thing, but it definitely has a nice visual flair to it, above all else.
“When a young boy meets a colossal, mysterious creature named Trico, the pair form a deep, unbreakable bond that will help them survive amongst the crumbling ruins and malevolent dangers that surround them.”
The Last Guardian will arrive for PlayStation 4 on December 7th, and following its release, will receive a graphical update for PS4 Pro owners with their fancy TVs.
