Last night on Fox’s Red Eye, Andy Levy listed a standard list of skills that growing teenagers need to have an understanding of. The list was comprised by former Dean Julie Lythcott-Haims and the bullet points are spot on. However, the last one was rather hilarious, talking about The Division’s Dark Zone.
Making the list was the ability to be able to talk to strangers, be able to manage assignments and workload deadlines, be able to contribute to the running of a household, handle interpersonal problems, cope with ups and downs, be able to earn and manage money, and be able to take risks.
What came next was great. The last bullet point came out with a rhythm clearly rehearsed to avoid a tongue-twisting result. “Be able to gear up your character in The Division despite the way Massive nerfed the crafting system and allows packs of super-geared rogues to gank you in the Dark Zone. Thanks a lot, jerks.”
He then admitted that he “may have added that last one on his own”.
It was a fun little piece, but watch it and laugh along with it. It’s entirely true, and likewise, I’ve shelved the game in hope that Ubisoft and Massive sort out the exploits and take those who cheated down a peg or two. I’m in favour of a full reset of the full game, in order to make its future content more enjoyable following the first month of mishaps. Either that, or a server roll-back to before the Incursions DLC dropped.
