Halo 5: Guardian’s latest DLC pack, The Cartographer’s Gift, will begin rolling out next week bringing a host of new content to the game completely free of charge, one of the few benefits to having introduced micro-transaction to the series. Headlining The Cartographer’s Gift is of course the all new Forge mode which unfortunately missed the launch of the game.
Let’s start with that all important Forge mode, which for those of you who don’t know has been an absolutely huge feature in past Halo games. It’s essentially a map editor which allows you to start with a blank canvas before adding in the pieces to create your very own Halo map. Forge has always been a popular feature among the Halo community and 343 Industries have really pushed in bringing the feature to Halo 5: Guardians. 1,700 will be made available to place into your chosen environment, it’s something we’re very much looking forward to getting our hands on. However it’s not the only thing worth getting excited over in The Cartographer’s Gift.
4 all new maps will also be gracing Halo 5: Guardian’s multiplayer including 1 eagerly anticipated new Warzone map “Battle of Noctus” and 3 new arena maps “Overgrowth”, “Antifreeze” and “Entombed” all optimized for their respective game modes. Furthermore, The free update will also include new armor, icons, stance poses, assassinations and new weapon skins giving players even more Spartan customization options.
And we’re still not finished sharing the good news, in addition to all the stuff listed so far, The Cartographer’s Gift will also add two new, classic looking weapons based on previous weapons from earlier Halo games from past generation systems. These include the SPNKR Rocket Launcher and the fan favorite, Classic Battle Rifle.
That’s quite a lot to take in, fortunately 343 Industries released the following infographic to help detail everything that’s included in the update, and of course add a little color to everything they’re bringing to the game.
