Just when you think there aren’t enough Telltale Games series, now we have another to add to the pile, but this one is a little different. Batman was announced during the Game Awards along with a short one minute teaser that you can view below. Along with the signature cell shading that Telltale is known for, we get an artistic sense of a detective noir, similar to the art in Batman: The Animated Series made by Paul Dini in the 1990s.
An update from Telltale’s official blog, “At Telltale, we’ve been honored to bring our unique approach to interactive storytelling to some of the biggest entertainment franchises in the world, and we’re excited to announce that we’ll soon be exploring what it means to be Batman in an all-new series starting next year,” said Kevin Bruner, Co-Founder and CEO of Telltale Games. “This iteration of Batman will give fans a first-hand opportunity to dive deeper into the complex life and mind of Bruce Wayne, the duality of his own identity, and the struggle of responsibility in saving a city overcome with corruption and villainy.”
Batman now adds to the ever growing catologue of Telltale series, with a Marvel related episodic story in the making as well as another season of Game of Thrones and a 3-episode Michonne (The Walking Dead) event. Batman should serve as an excellent addition for Telltale as the 90s Animated Series focused in on all aspects of Batman and should highlight his detective skills along with a plethora of villains and satisfying combat. Watch the teaser below and let us know what you think!
