There are some tunes and theme songs that you just identify as stuff you hear on weekends. Take the Top Gear or Match of the Day theme. You know it’s Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon when you’re at home with the feet up, and you hear your favourite weekend show start. Pure bliss. EA has released the full details on the upcoming Need for Speed soundtrack. The game will include 61 artists including Avicii, the Chemical Brothers and Silversun Pickups. Electronic DJ Photek, meanwhile, has been signed up to provide a selection of the game’s original scoring, with the full soundtrack promising “throbbing basslines and pounding beats to gasoline-drenched riffs and precision rapping”.
Designer Tommy Refenes said in a Team Meat Blog that the studio had to create a new soundtrack for the game as they were unable to get the rights to the original score held by Danny Baranowsky, who claims to no longer have a “working relationship with Team Meat.”
Journey is an experience and it’s one that is almost impossible to explain. It is an art game that draws you in without you even noticing. By the time you reach the end you’re left wondering how on earth you came to be so emotionally involved and wishing you could turn the clock back and start it for the first time all over again.
