Rumours have been floating about for a number of months now that Konami are cutting loose and leaving the Triple-A industry and instead dipping their hands into money farm that is mobile, however UK community manager for Konami, Graham Day, says otherwise.

Pre-order sales have dropped hard in the UK over the last year, but that is the case in the US also. GameStop International President Mike Mauler points the finger at the growing influence of Metacritic.
Mauler says that Metacritic has grown a lot over the last few years, as gamers start becoming more wary of pre-ordering an wait until the reviews come out, impacting on sales. However, he says despite the lower pre-order numbers the turnout on day one releases remains healthy, and in fact has grown.

Veteran Game Designer and Developer David Jaffe, well known for his work on God of War and Twisted Metal, and currently working on Drawn to Death, has come out swinging at industry “insiders” who leak info on games prior to E3.
Jaffe wrote his rant on Twitter, saying it is the “height of arrogance and asshole behavior” that such people will happily ruin the work many people have spent “months” setting up to surprise fans. In no way does he blame the fans for wanting to know the info, nor gaming news websites for running it, but the insiders themselves who provide the leaks.
