It seems I’ve been diagnosed with a non-fatal yet terrible affliction. I’ve been struck down with what Final Fantasy 15 director Hajime Tabata dubbed Final Fantasy disease. What is this terrible illness and can I be cured of it?
The latest patch for Final Fantasy XIV has been out since the 23rd. I give a short run down some of the changes and what to expect in the current update to the MMORPG.
Over the past couple of weeks there has been a bucket load of misinformation piled on to fans regarding the Final Fantasy VII remake. Snippets of interviews, roughly translated and words like “episode” have been used without much context. This of course has whipped people in to a frenzy. Well, I for one think it’s time to take a step back and look at what was said by the people who know what they’re talking about.
One of the biggest surprises at this year’s E3 was the official announcement of the long-requested Final Fantasy VII Remake, coming to PS4 soon. However, we still haven’t seen any gameplay footage, until now that is.
At the Playstation Experience 2015, Square Enix has just shown off a new gameplay trailer, showcasing many moments from the beginning of the game like the train arrival scene or the battle against the first boss, the game also seems to use a new combat system, but the exact details are unknown at the time. Square Enix are holding a free login campaign for players who want to return to the land of Eorzea. The campaign starts today until the 31st of December.
Following the release of the first full expansion for Final Fantasy XIV it was always going to be a somewhat long wait before the next large update but it’s finally been given a release date. On November 10th the game will be getting a large chunk of new content.
In an interview with IGN, Xbox head Phil Spencer said that he is not “huge fan of” third party exclusivity and, as you may have noticed since he took over, they have been doing less of it.
Final Fantasy XIV has been on the PlayStation 4 for a few years now, as well as on PC, but no announcement has been made in regards to an Xbox One version, and that doesn’t look like it will change anytime soon with Spencer saying that it is down to business and platform exclusivity.
