Superbowl LI ads that you care about

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Cover superbowlLast night, the 51st annual Superbowl took place at the NRG Stadium, Houston, Texas. The Patriots beat the Falcons, but for some of us, we’re not fans of the sport and instead look forward to either the half-time show, or the tv commercials that showcase some cool games or movie trailers. Here, we compile the most relevant ones.

First up, is a 1 minute trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 which runs us through the cast of the movie, along with a release date of May 5th. It’s sure to be a fun one, if it’s anything like the first movie.

Late last year, we were shown our first trailer for The Fate of the Furious, or Fast 8 if you will, which shows Dom going his own way, and seemingly up against his crew and his family. It’s the first Fast & Furious movie without Paul Walker, and I’m expecting some plot twists in what I admit is one of my most enjoyed movie franchises in recent years.

I’ll be honest. I haven’t watched a Pirates movie since the second one, and it was years between seeing the first repeatedly, when I finally watched the first sequel. This will be the fifth movie in the franchise, and while I’d say ‘is it necessary to keep it going?’, many would probably say the same about Fast 8, so I’ll move along.

The Rock continues to see his name appear in big Hollywood titles, and one of which is the reboot of Baywatch for the big screen. Expect eye candy, loads of humour and explosions on the sunny beaches this summer.

One of last year’s most talked about TV shows, Stranger Things makes a return with a second season, coming this Halloween. Yeah, that’s really far away, but there are enough games, movies and shows to keep you tied over until then, so don’t worry too much about it!

Nintendo fans must have been over the moon to see the upcoming Switch appearing on national TV during the game. Nintendo have to go big and launch this thing into the atmosphere, and having millions of people tune in and seeing it in action in this new trailer will certainly help! March 3rd, don’t forget!

Wargaming and World of Tanks had a parody-filled pair of ads during the Superbowl commercials, and while you may not follow World of Tanks as much as your other games, it’s a massive franchise and a name you are definitely familiar with, so the ads do work!

Starting off this trailer for Ghost in the Shell, we see¬†Scarlett Johansson strip off. Certainly one way to draw attention from viewers. I’m one of few people who has never watched the anime, so I don’t know what’s going on. I should maybe check this out when it hits cinemas. Who else can own up to not watching it before?

Logan hits theaters on March 3rd, the same day as the Nintendo Switch’s launch, and this Superbowl trailer shows stuff we’ve already seen, to the theme of Amazing Grace
