As many of you will already know, Star Wars Battlefront is receiving Death Star DLC in the near future, and best of all, it’s adding trench runs and space combat, a feature missing from the title aside from the air combat mode.
A new mode coming with the content is Battle Station, as it is is known. Throughout it, there are three phases of combat. Phase 1 sees players flying X-wings and A-wings against TIE fighters and TIE interceptors, in space no less. Combat takes place until the Rebels hold off the TIES long enough for the Y-Wings to complete a bombing run on the Death Star.
Combat will then switch to an attack/defense mission against defences on the Death Star, with humans and AI working for an against both sides.
Phase 2 has players fighting inside the space station where they will need to extract a “priority droid: from within the Death Star. This will be regular on foot gameplay in the traditional sense of Star Wars Battlefront.
Finally, the Death Star will need to be destroyed, and we all know very well how this is accomplished. Players can take on the role of Luke Skywalker in his Red-5 X-wing, but as you know, Darth Vader will also be about to try protect the station, so keep an eye out for him.
The Death Star content is due this September as part of the Season Pass, and is also available separately.
