Bad news for South Park fans and for those who absolutely loved the first game, The Stick of Truth, as Ubisoft have announced during an earnings call that The Fractured but Whole is delayed again. Initially due to release in the holiday of 2016, we all expected an early 2017 launch, but today is a sad day.
“The game’s being pushed to the next fiscal year for the company, which means it could release anytime between April 1, 2017 and March 31, 2018,” says Game Informer, but a delay isn’t always a bad thing. South Park: The Stick of Truth suffered a number of delays. It eventually released a year after its planned date, but the game benefited from the extra development time to become an accessible, hilarious and brilliant RPG title.
The Fractured but Whole is a follow-up, which takes place literally hours after The Stick of Truth, seeing the locals swap out their fantasy attire for superhero get ups. I have no doubts that this game will be awesome just like its prequel, but who knows? Maybe the studio will add in a few more jokes to tie in with current affairs?
If you missed out on it, why not take this time to play The Stick of Truth? It’s also backwards compatible on Xbox One, if that gives you further encouragement!
