A new Gran Turismo is in development for PlayStation 4. It is not Gran Turismo 7, but Polyphony Digital will again develop the PlayStation’s most recognisable racer, with the opportunity for fans to win real life prizes. Not a bad initiative.
Gran Turismo Sport will feature two FIA-sanctioned championships, one for countries, and one for manufacturers. Race to reach the top of the leaderboard in your country, proving your dominance, and represent your favourite manufacturer, hopefully gaining some recognition from them (we can dream!).
There is no release date as of yet for Gran Turismo Sport, but its announcement is great news for PlayStation fans who may be longing for a more simulator-like racing title, who may not have enjoyed DriveClub as much as they would have liked.
There was also talk that Gran Turismo Sport may also support the PlayStation VR device when it releases. It hasn’t been confirmed, but there’s a chance the game will make use of the new hardware, allowing racers to experience the thrill of racing from inside the racer’s helmet. That would be awesome.
With this game next in line for PS4, how long will it be before we see a Gran Turismo 7 though?
