The Sniper Ghost Warrior series has picked up a bit of a niche following, and it’s not hard to see why. We all like to pretend we’re the best at what we do when playing a game, and being the lonewolf sniper popping heads from hundreds of meters definitely sounds fun! But the developer, CI Games have seemingly stepped on toes, hurting some of its community in relation to the third title in the series.
You can pre-order Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 now, and you can see what is included with it on all platforms. You will quickly note that the PC and PlayStation 4 versions offer an inclusive season pass with your pre-order, however the Xbox One version offers a ‘Limited Edition’ list of content. Limited is the key word here, if you compare the two offerings. Isn’t it good to know though that the Xbox version includes the game to begin with? Take that bullet point off the list.
The PS4 / PC pre-order season pass includes
- Two major single player expansions
- The Escape of LYDIA
- The Sabotage
- Two multiplayer maps
- All terrain vehicle
- Sniper Rifle McMillan TAC-338A
- Compound Bow
Xbox One Limited Edition bonus content includes
- Full game Sniper Ghost Warrior 3
- Additional single player campaign “The Escape of Lydia”
- Compound Bow
- All-terrain vehicle
What’s amazing though, is that the gaming community is actually up in arms about it, from all sides of the ‘platform war’. PC and PlayStation 4 owners are calling out the developers, rather than picking on their Xbox counterparts. We’re all gamers here, and nobody likes seeing anyone left out in the cold.
The season pass will sell for $30 on its own, but Xbox One players will be missing out on one single player campaign mission and two multiplayer maps compared to the PS4 and PC fan base.
Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 arrives on April 4th.
