When Skyrim and Dark Souls collide

skyrimSkyrim is a great game when it comes to modding. It’s been around for quite some time now and mod makers have brought us some great mods to keep the game fresh over the years. This modder, Tyroine shows us how he made Skyrim look like Dark Souls.

The video shows the use of bonfires, Elite Knight armour and some other graphical mods to give Skyrim that Dark Souls feel. Check it out below.

The user lists the mods used as:

– Dark Fantasy Overhaul : //www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/…
– Clean Up your corpses : //www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/…
– Supreme and volumetric Fog : //www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/…
– Skymomod V13 : //www.moddb.com/mods/skymomod-v1…
– Inferno The Blood Marked : //www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/…
– Vigilant : //www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/…
– Raven Castle : //www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/…
– TK Dodge : //www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/…
– Dark Souls Bonfire : //www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/…
– Dark Souls – Elite Knight : //www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/…
– Customizable Camera : //www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/…

If you want to get that Dark Souls vibe even further, there are also mods that make enemies scale per area rather than level, puts more Dark Souls armours in the game,  gives combat a more Dark Souls feel and allows you to lock on to enemies. There is also a mod that put many of the rings in Dark Souls in to Skyrim. Check these out in the inline links.

If you want to go further you can also use this mod to personalise the music in the game to put in the Dark Souls\Demon Souls music yourself. If these aren’t enough there are plenty of other mods that can increase the difficulty, unless you just want to crank it up to Legendary… Good luck with that!
