Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor looks set to receive a follow up some time in the future, according to a leak over the weekend. US store Target briefly uploaded a listing of its existence before taking it right back down again. However, it wasn’t done quickly enough and news of Shadow of War soon spread like fire across Middle-earth.
Listed as Middle-earth: Shadow of War (dor?), a description posted with the link stated the following:
“Go behind enemy lines to forge your army, conquer Fortresses, and dominate Mordor from within. Experience how the award-winning Nemesis System creates unique personal stories with every enemy and follower, and confront the full power of the Dark Lord Sauron and his Ringwraths in this epic new story of Middle-earth.
“In Middle-earth: Shadow of War, nothing will be forgotten.”
Shadow of Mordor was an open world third-person action game that played out somewhat like Assassin’s Creed and Batman Arkham. It featured a cool Nemesis system that saw enemies getting better and stronger whenever they killed you, and moved up in the chain of command for their respected faction. You died a few times over, as you were somewhat ghostly to begin with, early in the game.
