Take a feature length animated film, throw in a few cuss words and stick an adult rating on the poster. Ladies and gentlemen, introducing Sausage Party. Food stuffs are soon going to learn why they exist, and they won’t like it.
Written by and starring Seth Rogen, Sausage Party features a cast of characters of varying food types who live in the supermarket. It is their dream to one day get picked up by a customer and brought home. Little did they know however, what humans do with them once taken out of their package. What the food, and you then endure, is watching various talking foods try to escape the fate of their existence, and avoid the horrendous torture!
The cast includes Seth Rogen as Frank, one of the sausages, Kristen Wiig as Brenda, a hot dog bun, Jonah Hill as Carl, another sausage, Bill Hader as guacamole and an old bottle of liquor, Michael Cera as Barry, again, a sausage, James Franco, Paul Rudd, Edward Norton as Sammy Bagel, Jr. and a few stars who are too numerous to mention. Mostly playing food.
Honestly, I didn’t hear of this movie until earlier today, and I was rather innocent going into it, thinking something naughty of course, but I had no idea what to expect, and when I heard the first f-bomb, I thought I misheard it. Then I heard it again, and again, and knew what this was turning into!
Sausage Party is set for an August 2016 release date, and it’s definitely not one to bring the kids to!
