There are all sorts of rumours floating around the internet of Sony planning a ‘stealth release’ of Hello Games’ No Man’s Sky. With the release of Halo 5 on the Xbox One tomorrow, could Sony potentially draw some of the attention away from their competition, or would an out-of-nowhere release damage the game’s potential?
Sony’s Paris Games Week press conference kicks off tomorrow at the Grand Arche de la Defénse, and an unexpected announcement of No Man’s Sky’s release would surely cause waves of excitement. The game isn’t far off its release, but no confirmed date has been set. I’d imagine that a month long build up before the game’s release would be better suited for both Sony and Hello Games, but if it’s released tomorrow without any flair just to spite Microsoft, the Xbox and Halo, then it’s a bit unfair on everybody.
.@dojo_ninja I heard that rumour that NMS is stealth releasing on Oct 27th. It is false

“Friends of VG247 are claiming PS4 owners could be in for a massive treat tomorrow, saying the game will release on PSN this week.” I guess that time will tell, but I would be curious to know, would you like it to just release unexpectedly, or do you think it’s a bad idea?
