Rocket League isn’t afraid to cross into new territory and mix it up with established franchises, whether that’s Twisted Metal, Batman, Halo, Back to the Future and beyond. The latest update to come this month will add Hot Wheels to the mix, which makes perfect sense.
Nobody said Rocket League was set in real life proportions, so they could be toy cars, could be life-sized, but at the end of the day, who bloody cares?! The game is fun, the action aplenty, and the cars are the stars of the show.
Psyonix have announced a pair of Hot Wheels cars that will arrive as premium DLC to purchase via the game’s front-end Showcase store. ‘Twin Mill III’ and ‘Bone Shaker’ will soon be rocket-powered and ready for Beckwith Park (and every other Arena), with exclusive wheels and six decals for $1.99 USD.
As an added bonus, ALL players — even those who don’t purchase the Hot Wheels DLC — can find a FREE Hot Wheels Antenna and Topper, “Treasure Hunt” flag, and “Shark Bite” Topper as random post-match drops in the forthcoming update.
The Hot Wheels cars arrive on Rocket League on February 21st. Season 4 of Rocket League is set to kick off some time in March.
