Rocket League is a fantastic game, and developer Psyonix’s post release support has been fantastic with players receiving piles of new content absolutely free. Now, Psyonix have announced a partnership with Valve to bring Portal themed content to the rocket fuelled car soccer game this week.
The DLC will be available to players from this Tuesday, December 1st on PC, and all you have to do to get the themed items is play the game to unlock them like normal!
“Obtainable by playing a full game of Rocket League, the official Portal items are potentially rewarded at the end of every match, win or lose,” developer Psyonix said in their announcement. “All you have to do is keep playing until the match ends and your chance to earn a new Aperture-themed goodie of your very own.”
Here are the items coming to Rocket League:
- Cake (Topper)
- Conversion Gel (Rocket Trail)
- Propulsion Gel (Rocket Trail)
- Repulsion Gel (Rocket Trail)
- Aperture Laboratories (Antenna)
- Cake Sticker (Antenna)
- Companion Cube (Antenna)
- Personality Core (Antenna)
- PotatOS (Antenna)
The new additions are awesome, and show the developers commitment to the game even six months after release. If you haven’t played the game yet, it was free with PS+ back in July when it released and is available on Steam too, and is well worth checking out and playing with your friends (even has local play! Like, who does that anymore?). Psyonix have said they do wish to bring the game to Xbox One sometime in the future, but haven’t said if they will for sure.
