Hirabyashi does say that it will be a while before we will hear about the game again, as it has just been greenlit, but expect that they will put the same love and care into this as they did with the remaster of the first Resident Evil.
“The project has finally been approved for development!” Hirabyashi rips open his shirt revealing the t-shirt saying “WE DO IT!” as I hold back my urge to comment ‘did’, but being an avid consumer of Japanese entertainment I know that is about as close as it gets to correct English grammar in Japan. Jorn might bust a nut though.
“You’ve been telling us for years that you want Resident Evil 2 to be remade,” he adds. “We haven’t been able to make it happen…until now!”
It will be interesting to see just how they envision this remake, and how Raccoon City will look come release, though since they said remake it might not be exactly the same. Usually remakes involve big enough changes, though keeping things such as story intact for the most part. Remasters on the other hand mean just updating it to a more modern standard.
We will find out more closer to release either way. What are your thoughts though? Excited for a Resident Evil 2 remake? What were your thoughts on the original? Let us know in the comments!
