Rainbow Six: Siege Open Beta Delayed

Rainbow Six SiegeThe open beta for Ubisoft’s upcoming Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege has been delayed for an unspecified amount of time.

According to a post in the Ubisoft Forums for Siege, due to issues with matchmaking times and disconnections on all platforms, the team felt it best to push the open beta back until the problems are sorted.

Ubisoft Community Manager said in the post:

“We’re currently seeing issues with matchmaking times and disconnection on all platforms. As such we’re postponing the Open Beta until a later time and keeping the game under Closed Beta status. We apologize for the delay and can assure you this is our top priority. We will keep everyone updated regularly as we continue to deploy improvements.”

With full release coming next Tuesday, December 1st, issues such as this don’t bode well for the launch of the game, which focuses heavily on its multiplayer components. While it does have a single-player mode, I highly doubt “Situations” will keep players happy until things get fixed, and if the problem persists until then, Ubisoft might have a situation of their own to worry about.

Hopefully that won’t be the case though, and no doubt the team are working hard to ironed out the issues quickly to get the open beta into players hands.
