The rumour mill regarding a potential return of Quake has been active for some time, and after the release of last year’s Wolfenstein reboot, as well as Doom, it seemed only right that Quake would also see the light of day again. Well, here it is!
Revealed during Bethesda’s E3 showcase by id Software’s Tim Willits, Quake Champions is an online competitive shooter in the same vain as Quake Arena, an arena-style FPS for PC with a high framerate and a focus on eSports friendly gameplay. Quake Champions will feature a roster of unique characters, each with their own distinctive abilities, allowing you to fight the way you want.
While no gameplay was revealed during the event, we should get our first look at QuakeCon later this year, bookmarked for October.
