Poker games are a popular genre, mainly on the internet where players can put down real money and gamble. However, in a controlled network like PSN and Xbox Live, gambling is a bit more restricted, and only allows you to gamble with in-game money. It’s the safest option, and removes a lot of red tape and potential hassle. A new poker game is coming to Xbox One next week (PS4 later on) called Prominence Poker, and it’s free.
“Set in the city of Prominence, a gambling Mecca founded by crooked folks looking to go straight, players will face down four factions as they play their way solo to a final showdown with “The Mayor”–the mysterious town founder who will guide the player through their career.”
Beyond solo play, gamblers will find a deep multiplayer experience with regularly scheduled events, daily challenges, tournaments, ranked modes, and even more as the game evolves over time.
Developed by Pipeworks and published by 505 Games, Prominence Poker will also release on PlayStation 4 later in the year, and is available currently on Steam Early Access. The game promises to be an authentic poker experience that boasts a high level of detail in its mechanics thanks to the considerable input of four-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet holder Max Pescatori.
Prominence Poker is available to pre-load on Xbox One and will be available to play on August 16th.
