Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered has featured in the news quite a bit this week, despite it only being Tuesday. With recent reports suggesting, followed by official confirmation that you will need the Infinite Warfare disc to be able to access it, it has caused some debate on the internet.
If you are buying Call of Duty Infinite Warfare digitally, you will have the game regardless, as long as you’re buying the Legacy, Legacy Pro or Deluxe editions of the game. Those pre-ordering the disc will have to put the disc in the tray to play Modern Warfare Remastered, so don’t try flogging it off to your local game store the day after you install MW.
However, if you happen to own a PlayStation 4, you can start playing the Modern Warfare Remastered campaign from tomorrow, Wednesday the 5th of October. You won’t have access to the online modes, not until November 4th when Infinite Warfare releases worldwide. This offer is exclusive to PlayStation which means Xbox One and PC players will have to wait until November 4th to play the whole game.
To play Modern Warfare, just make sure you have pre-ordered Call of Duty Infinite Warfare on your PlayStation 4, via the PlayStation Store. Assuming this will unlock Modern Warfare from either the games library, or allow you to hop into the main menu of Infinite Warfare in order to boot the game up, you can proceed to play through the campaign that you fell in love with in 2009. Or experience it for the first time, and see why it’s so great.
