Overwatch micro-transaction prices

overwatch tracerBlizzard’s Overwatch released today on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC and even as a full priced title, it’s not surprise to see that it too is offering premium microtransactions at launch. These items can include skins, emotes, hero poses and even dialogue. Thankfully, none of the offerings are game-changing.

“But I paid full price for this game, why should I have to pay money to unlock cosmetic items?!”

Fortunately, you don’t. What these Loot Crates offer is exactly the same as what you’ll get by just playing the game and leveling up. There are those of us out there with hours of free time to play and enjoy the game. Then there are others who may only have an hour in the evening or on the weekends, who may just want to unlock something awesome and enjoy it. Both camps are pretty well catered for here.

On the plus side, any additional game content, such as characters and maps, will be made available for free when they’re ready. “You will not have to pay for heroes and maps,” Overwatch’s game designer Michael Chu said to pcgamesn.
