Overwatch coming to PS4/Xbox One, releases next year as a full-priced game

Overwatch: Origins EditionWell I didn’t expect that to be news today, it seems Blizzard upcoming FPS, Overwatch will be arriving next year. Not only that but a PS4 and Xbox One version seem to also be on their way, according to this screencap of the game’s Battle.net page

Not only that, but it will also be released as a full-priced game at $60, which is kind of a surprise considering these kind of games are usually Free-to-Play.

According to Kotaku and IGN, Gamestop is currently taking pre-orders for all versions of Overwatch, which will be known as “Overwatch: Origins Edition”. A Noire Widowmaker skin is also being offered as a pre-order bonus. Blizzard says to stay tunned for their Blizzcon conference.

“In a time of global crisis, an international task force of heroes banded together to restore peace to a war-torn world. It ended the crisis and helped to maintain peace in the decades that followed, inspiring an era of exploration, innovation, and discovery. But after many years, Overwatch’s influence waned, and it was eventually disbanded.

Overwatch is gone… but the world still needs heroes.”

Be wary though, at the time of writing, no official announcement has been made, so stay tuned for Blizzcon.

So, 4-One gaming community, what do you think of this announcement? Played the beta yet? Are you at Blizzcon? Share your thoughts on the comments section!
