Many were disappointed to see Outlast 2 get pushed back to 2017 but overnight the Outlast 2 Demo has quietly snuck onto the PlayStation store which should help keep you occupied until the game releases next year. For now there’s no sign of the demo on Steam or Xbox One but I imagine it wont be long until they lurch at you from the shadows.
Red Barrels, Outlast 2’s developer announced the imminent arrival of the demo via Twitter and Facebook by using an acrostic which is a word puzzle of sorts in which certain letters in each line form a word or words.

Outlast 2 is the sequel to the acclaimed survival horror game Outlast which I’m still unable to complete due to being stuck. Outlast 2 is set in the same universe as the first game, but with different characters and a different setting,
You play Blake Langermann, a cameraman working with your wife, Lynn. The two of you are investigative journalists who are looking into the murder of a pregnant woman known only as Jane Doe. The investigation has lead you deep into the Arizona desert where presumably all sorts of horrific and scream inducing things will happen.
Whilst there is no fixed date in 2017 for the games release you can be sure that it’s going to be a hit. Just make sure you pack the spare underwear before playing. I have a feeling you’re going to need it.
