A few weeks ago, EA and DICE held an open beta for Battlefield 1, their latest take on the shooter franchise that takes the action all the way back to World War 1. Those who signed up for EA Insider got the pleasure of experiencing the game one day early, while everyone else who kept their email addresses and data to themselves got to play it from the next day for over a week. The player count figures are now something to shout about.
EA have since released an infographic, detailing how many players played the ope beta, as well as other information such as most popular classes deployed, the number of melee kills, kills while on horses and other stuff. Battlefield 1 managed to draw in 13.2 million players during its beta period which is rather impressive across the three platforms of PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Even amidst stories of how you needed Xbox Live Gold to take part in an online multiplayer game.
Battlefield 1 will be available to play when it launches on October 21st, with more maps to wreck havoc on, and a single player campaign which we know very little about, so close to release. Were you one of the 13 million players, or do your interests lie elsewhere?
