Resident Evil 7, or Biohazard, depending on how you like to spell it out will be releasing this week on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, but it looks like it won’t be launching on the upcoming Nintendo Switch any time soon, or at all.
Resident Evil’s series producer Masachika Kawata recently took part in an interview with Express Online, saying “I think it’s a very unique piece of hardware, I’m looking forward to the possibilities of the system itself, but we have no plans at the moment regarding Resident Evil on Switch.”
It’s unknown why that is. Perhaps Capcom and Nintendo haven’t discussed it yet, or come to an agreement on it. Perhaps the Nintendo Switch isn’t powerful enough to run the game, and they’re not allowed say something to that effect at this time?
Last week during a casual few drinks and first impressions piece by Drunk Tech Reviews, Titanfall 2’s senior designer Mohammad Alavi said in response to the possibility of the game appearing on Switch, “F*ck no! No, you’re not going to be able to fit Titanfall 2 on the Nintendo Switch..” You can witness his comment towards the end of the segment.
Is it a case of the Switch not having the memory capacity, or is it lacking in the software to play beefier titles?
