This November, Nintendo will re-release the world famous NES, although not as a cartridge operated console. No, instead it will be a NES emulator, but super cute and awesome at the same time. Introducing, the Mini NES Classic Edition.
It will include 30 pre-installed games, which you can see below. Instead of using an AC adapter, the mini NES is powered by a connection to your TV using a HDMI cable. It will retail at $60, and there will be optional NES Classic Controllers released and sold separately for $9.99 each, allowing for multiplayer.
This new controller will also connect to a Wii Remote, so that you can use it to play Virtual Console games on a Wii or Wii U.
Another pretty neat addition is game saves. It will not require you to remember passwords where applicable in-game. Instead, the Mini NES will make use of suspended gameplay saves, or just traditional saving that we’ve become accustomed to.
The full list of games included on the console are:
- Balloon Fight
- Bubble Bobble
- Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest
- Donkey Kong
- Donkey Kong Jr.
- Double Dragon II: The Revenge
- Dr. Mario
- Final Fantasy
