Nintendo has announced that their new console which will succeed the Wii U, the Nintendo NX will hit the market in March of 2017. It was expected to launch around the holidays of this year but it has been delayed into the spring which will probably be better for fans. The announcement came as part of Nintendo’s financial results briefing in Japan this morning
As well as the console’s new release date, Zelda Wii U has also been delayed until the same date, to coincide with the console’s launch. “The latest instalment in this classic series is scheduled to launch simultaneously for both Wii U and NX, and both versions of the game have been in development in tandem. Because developers need more time to polish the game, it will launch in 2017, but it will be the focus of Nintendo’s presence at E3,” confirmed Nintendo in a press release.
Nintendo also confirmed that we won’t be seeing the Nintendo NX, or whatever it’s official name will be, at E3, Instead, fans will have the opportunity to play the latest Zelda title, while the console will be shown off later in the year.
