The Xbox One Backwards Compatibility feature has received another slew of new titles, although some are rather passable. There are some good additions too, and one in particular stands out. Earlier this week, four titles were added, and here are a few more as of yesterday, June 9th.
Added most recently is XCOM: Enemy Within, Foul Play, Monopoly Plus, and Sega Bass Fishing. The latter is interesting considering today’s release of Dovetail’s Euro Fishing which is available digitally. It’s more of a simulation game compared to the arcade feel of Sega Bass Fishing though.
XCOM: Enemy Within is the expansion for XCOM: Enemy Unknown and requires the base game in order to be played. Luckily, as of June 16th, everyone on Xbox One will have the opportunity to play Enemy Unknown when it becomes available with Games with Gold. A must play title, even if you’re somewhat turned off my turn based combat. Name the squad after friends and family, and it will be a much deeper, emotional experience for you!
Foul Play is a side-scrolling co-op brawler set on-stage in a theatre in front of the theater’s crowd. The player may perform shattering takedowns and reversals to amuse the audience and perform devastating linked attacks.
The games added earlier in the week include Aqua, Anomaly Warzone Earth, and Lazy Raiders. The total number of backwards compatibility games now equals 190, which is astonishing in its first year of release.
