Since the release of Need for Speed last year, Ghost Games have been hammering out updates for the community. The next update titled ‘Showcase’ is coming next week, on Wednesday February 3rd and will add a bunch of new features, some of which were requested by the community, and it looks like another trip to Ventura Bay is in order.
First up is Snapshot Pro, a mode which will allow you to create some stunning photos of your favourite car. Simply hit Start to get to phone screen, then select Snapshot Pro from the phone menu. You’ll then be able to manoeuvre the camera around the car, apply a number of custom settings such as depth of field, brightness, contrast, vignette, saturation and more. You’ll also be able to apply a number of pre-set filters, allowing you to achieve great results in a very short amount of time.
Next up is Wrap Sharing, which has been one of the most requested features to date. The developers are now adding a new option within the Paint and Wrap section that will allow you to browse and download wraps shared by other players. If you’re a wrap creator then simply mark your creation as shareable and it’ll show up for everyone else.
Unlike in games like Forza, where the livery is locked out, Need for Speed players will have the option to edit the downloaded wrap to suit their car. Change one colour to another, or stretch and contract it. It sounds awesome.
Fans have been asking for more customization parts for cars, with some models not getting as much attention as others. With this Showcase update, 100 new items are being added, but only to the following cars:
- Ford Focus RS
- Chevrolet Camaro Z28
- BMW M3 E92
- Ford Mustang Boss 302
- Ford Mustang Foxbody
- Ford Mustang GT
- Mazda MX5 (2015)
- NISSAN 180sx Type X
- NISSAN Silvia Spec-R
- SUBARU BRZ Premium
- SUBARU Impreza WRX
A new Competitive mode is being added to the front end menu, so if you want to jump straight into multiplayer races online, you can now do so from the get-go. A simple addition, but a helpful one.
Requested by fans, Gas Stations will now offer a function seen in other Need for Speed titles. Instead of having to drive back to your garage to repair your car’s body back to 100%, you can simply drive through a gas station and for the price of nothing, your car will be healed back to full health. Hooray!
Three new trophies and achievements will be added to the game, go out and earn them all:
- Filter Addict – Take a Snapshot with a Filter in Snapshot Pro Mode
- Wrap Artist – Share a Wrap with the Need for Speed Community
- Climbing the Ranks – Reach Monthly Rank 10 by completing Daily Challenges
