The Coalition have announced the two latest maps for Gears of War 4 coming this month, as well as details on the second title update. However, with the arrival of two brand new maps, it also brings about some bad news, which Gears fans may not be too happy about.
It’s not a surprise either, but to put it in common internet lingo, it sucks. Basically, two maps join the public rotation, while two maps get removed. If you don’t have a Season Pass, you can’t play on the two removed maps in private lobbies. They’re a fiver each if you want to play Horde on the additional maps.
“What maps are being removed?’ you say? Gridlock and Relic. “As we say hello to Glory and Speyer, we say goodbye (for now) to Gridlock and Relic. As a reminder, all maps in Gears of War 4 are added to playlists for free, with maps rotating in and out of public playlists. For non-Season Pass holders that want to keep playing maps no longer in rotation, individual maps can be purchased in the Gears of War store.
Yep, the classic Gears of War map that featured in all but one title will be taken away from fans, in favour of two brand new maps, Glory and Speyer, which will be arriving on December 6th with Title Update 2! Season Pass Holders will have access in the Developer Playlist – now featuring Double XP and 20% extra Credit rewards – on December 6th, and then both maps will be added to all playlists for everyone on December 13th.
For a look at the new maps, you can see the flyover videos of each of them below.
Title update 2 also includes several highly requested improvements along with some new features including:
- A Daily Rewards system
- Improved visual feedback for damage dealt with the Gnasher
- Vertical Split-Screen for Windows 10 players
- Improvements to footstep audio balance, audio/video settings
- A whole lot more!
