That’s right, tomorrow Netflix is releasing Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny.
If you happen to live in the US, the film is also getting a limited release in select IMAX screens across the country.
This isn’t a sequel that fans have been expecting, or even asking for, but Netflix have delivered the goods fairly consistently, so it’s forgiveable to be cautiously optimistic going into Sword of Destiny.
Harvey Weinstein has produced the sequel, but unfortunately the original Crouching Tiger director, Ang Lee, is not attached, throwing further scepticism into the mix about the film’s quality.
Netflix have been pushing the advertising for this film a lot harder than they usually would, and they’ve released a final trailer to give late-comers to the party (like myself) a last chance to board the hype train.
Everything’s up in the air about this film, but hey, it’s not like it costs me anything to log into my room-mate’s Netflix.
