Today, Activision have announced that Call of Duty Modern Warfare’s original Variety Map Pack will be coming soon to Modern Warfare Remastered. Bringing the four DLC maps back in updated fashion, the add-on will also grant you a few Rare loot drops to entice you into spending more on the game you bought last year, and eight years ago.
The four maps included with the Variety Map Pack include Broadcast, Chinatown, Creek, and Killhouse which you may or may not remember at this stage. Maybe you’ll know them to see. Back in the day, this map pack would have cost you $10 on the previous generation but with Modern Warfare Remastered, which is still locked behind the Infinite Warfare Special Edition, the four new maps will set you back $15. However, you get 10 ‘Rare’ supply drops on top of your purchase, meaning more cosmetic items for your effort, if you see that as profit.
The Variety Map Pack releases first on PlayStation 4 on March 21st, and most likely a month later on PC and Xbox One, as is the case with all Call of Duty content these days. It’s unconfirmed whether the Infinite Warfare Season Pass covers this DLC add-on, but we’ll keep our ears peeled in the meantime.
It’s still strange to see that Modern Warfare Remastered is still locked behind the paywall to begin with. I could have sworn this would release as a $30 standalone item sometime after the holidays. I’m clearly wrong.
